Reduce your risk of getting sick: avoid rubbing your eyes or touching your face, wash hands frequently, and avoid crowds when possible.

Seniors are especially vulnerable to respiratory illnesses like pneumonia and the flu. But everyone can reduce their risk of getting sick this winter by following a few safety precautions. First, get the influenza vaccine now. Don’t wait until the flu season is halfway over. Always wash your hands before handling food. Keep your hands away from your mouth, nose and eyes. If you have to rub your eyes or nose, wash your hands first. Keep hand sanitizer on hand for those times when soap and water aren’t available. Steer clear of crowds, if possible, during peak cold and flu season, and ask sick friends and family members to hold off on visiting until they’re well.

That's it for now, until next time, good luck with your training and remember, if you have a question, log on to the Virtual Trainer Expert Forum and have your question answered by a panel of experts. In addition, be sure and check out the Racer X Virtual Trainer archive section. Your complete one-stop information zone for motocross fitness. VT Signature

Athlete habit: eat, touch face only with dominant hand. Open doors, etc. with non dominant hand. Or vice versa. Basically limit touching your face/eating to one hand only and don't cross contaminate by switching hands unless you wash them in between.
