This week's episode of the Racer X Virtual Trainer podcast show features semi-retired rider John Dowd. John has raced for 23-years on the pro circuit and currently only races the Southwick national for fun. This year he placed 3rd! Not bad for a 44-year old dude.
In this 1-hour podcast John openly talks about life after racing and what his training has consisted of over the years. He tells us about his plan to someday start a motocross school and talks about topics like the AMA's fuel rule and why he thinks it's stupid and why the sound rule is good. He also pleads his case as to why he should be allowed to race the plus 40 class at Loretta Lynns even if he does race Southwick. He offers a very compelling and simple argument that is hard to disagree with.
Don't forget that all Virtual Trainer Podcasts are enhanced so be sure and download the m4a file to iTunes or QuickTime so you can enjoy the many features that an enhanced podcast offers. One cool thing along with the slideshow is that enhanced podcasts have chapters. I have marked each question with a chapter so you can fast forward and rewind question by question which makes for easy scanning (ok, so I didn't actually do that for this podcast but I did add some cool pictures). To take advantage of this feature use iTunes, your iPod touch, iPhone or similar device
And please visit our sponsors, Concept2 rowing and Fitness Anywhere, makers of the TRX suspension trainer because without them, there would be no Virtual Trainer website let alone a podcast show.
You will also want to make sure you subscribe to the RSS feed so that you are always up to date as I add more podcasts to the show. Thanks and enjoy!
