Want to add more omega-3s and fiber to your diet? Chia seeds are loaded with both and have more antioxidants than blueberries.

Move over, flaxseed, there’s a new omega-3 powerhouse in town. Well, truth be told, chia seeds (yes, of Chia Pet fame) have been around since the early Aztecs and Mayans. They have even more omega-3 fatty acids than flax does, and you don’t have to grind them before eating. (The body can’t process whole flaxseed.) Chia seeds boast 4 grams of fiber per tablespoon and are a great source of calcium. Sprinkle them on cereal, yogurt, salads or stir-fries. Buy them in the 360-5.com wellness store, or look for them at your local natural food shop.
