i need to get back into riding shape (for motocross aka dirtbike racing) so i decided to ask some ppl who know more about this kinda thing. the only weights i have are dumbbells, so i need a workout plan that can work with that. also i plan on riding a few days a week. i was thinking of riding mon-wed-fri on my small track in my back yard and on the weekends ill be riding on real tracks, and then working out on tue and thur.
but im also worried that that might be over doing it and i wont get any where.

so can any1 help me out and let me know if i should take like wed off and rest, or if that will be good. and also what workouts i can do?

o, and i work for a tree service 5 days a week which is hard manual labor. (thought i should include that incase it has an effect on how hard i should workout during the week.

thanks in advance

Check out the 19 -week training plan on the site. It might just be exactly what you are looking for.

i checked that out, but it says u need to be able to go to the gym or have a home gym, neither of which i have or can get at this time.

i was looking for more of a basic home workout routine. i have dumbbells tho. but when it comes to working out im clueless.

The home gym is really simple. The TRX is a great option and all you really need. For 100 bucks or so you can also do most of the gym workouts at home.

With regards to not being able to help you, are you looking for a complete program drawn up for you to follow by 1 of the trainers on this site?

If that is what you are looking for, personally I dont think any one of them will do that for free for you cause if they do it for you, they will have to do it for everyone who asks then and then lose potential income. Look at doing body weight excercises and plyometrics for now.

Robert, if you want help in developing a training program that is the sole purpose of the VT website. Everything on the site is free BUT you have to do some work. I have spend many, many hours organizing and populating the various sections of the site for guys like you to be able to gain enough knowledge to put a good plan together. And like John said, if you don't want to do the work and you want a trainer to develop a complete program just for you, then there are options for that as well. The first place I would start is John's website and then Coach Seiji's. They both offer online training services. But I think if you take the time to look at and study the free online program Coach Seiji posted, you should be able to take the framework and modify the exercises to suit your needs.
