Other things to focus on other than arm pump while riding: breathing rhythmically and relaxed, relaxed shoulders and neck= relaxed arms, tight legs and loose arms, riding smooth and within your technical limits. Again, focus on things other than the arm pump! If you think you will have arm pump, then you will have arm pump.

There are physical causes but the are severe (certain muscular tightness issues that can impede venous blood flow) but again, these would be super serious and it would be much more painful than just arm pump usually.

Hi again

I have been thinking about not to go to the gym anymore - instead I would buy a TRX and start to use that piece of equipment for my strengt training.

Can you train as good with the TRX as you do in the gym or are the TRX just a thing that can support you training in the gym?

Regards
Rasmus

You can do almost everything that you do in a standard gym with a TRX and a few dumbbells. There are a few motions that you cannot do on a TRX because the load is your body weight and you cannot push against your body weight in some angles (imagine a shoulder press); some leg exercises are also limited in load and ROM but 95% of things you can do with the TRX and do exceptionally well. By far my favorite piece of equipment.

Thanks for the fast answer! :D

So a TRX, the videos at their website and I should be well geared to do a fullbody-program for motocross?

Ok, so no dumbells and no barbells? :D

btw. Can you also do a fullbody-program with much "weight" - maybe do 6-8 repetitions and it's still very hard?

At last - would you recommend me to use the TRX or the gym - what are the pros and cons? :D

Rasmus, I also have a page on the site that talks specifically about the TRX and the types of exercises that are right for MX.
