I hope this question hasn't been asked before. If so, I apologize. This thought has been bouncing around in my head, annoying me with uncertainty.

Let's say my goal for today's training session is to train for an hour and a half at the upper end of zone 2.

Do I:
a) Measure that by my average HR for the entire training session? Or...
b) Warm up until my real time HR is in the correct zone, and then average HR from there? Or...
c) Warm up until my real time HR is in the correct zone, and then do my best to maintian a real time HR as close as possible to my target for the rest of the training session?

Thanks a bunch!
David

Phew! That's what I've been trying to do. Thanks for the validation.
