Hi Samuel;

No secret formula at age 15 - eat well, get lots of sleep and start doing some cardio training (running / cycling) and some light weights under supervision (get a trainer to watch your technique so that you don't get hurt). And get riding - lots!

Best,

Dr. Dale Macdonald

If you search this site, there are plenty of tips that you can look through to create your own program and there is actually a free training program for people that have around 5-6 hours per week total to train. This program was designed originally for those with a job and family but you can use it as a good starting point and add from there. Just do a search on Coach Seiji's Free Training Program. Good luck down there, want to go there some day to climb!

If you own a heart rate monitor, complete a heart rate assessment for every form of training that you do: moto, Concept 2 rowing, cycling, etc. Keep a detailed assessment of your morning heart rate and then calculate your heart training zones accordingly. If you need a spreadsheet to determine your five intensity zones based on these numbers, please email me and I will forward over to you what I use with my clients. My email address is robb3@earthlink.net.
