Hey Guys,
Not been on here for quite sometime as all of the info you have given me in the past has put me where I wanted to be until now.
I'm looking to add a few more calories to my diet by having a pasta dish for my lunch something like a tuna pasta or chicken pasta salad but was wondering which is best chicken or tuna and also can you recommend a dressing that wll make the meal tasty but at the same time still be fairly good for me, I was thinking a light mayo but as it's primarily egg yoke didn't think that would be the best thing.

Please can you help me in this matter,

Many Thanks :)

Chicken and tuna are both good choices. Tuna contains omega 3 fatty acids which many of us don't consume enough of so that'd be a plus. I would maybe alternate the two so you don't get burned out on either. Light mayo isn't necessarily a terrible choice, I would just limit the amount. You could also try mustard or even a small amount of reduced fat ranch. French and Catalina dressings are great low fat alternatives as well but I'm not so sure they'd taste great with the tuna.

Hope this helps!

Weston,
Great problem to have - looking for more calories! I would recommend adding the following for additional, healthy calories:
- Avocadoes
- Cold water fish (if you can't stand the smell or taste of fish, supplement with a HIGH QUALITY fish oil). Note: if you are belching and tasting your fish oil after taking, they are rancid.
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil (and balsamic vinegar for a dressing)

Your body will use the calories as fuel or will pass it as waste - meaning you won’t gain any weight from these items. You literally cannot over do these items in your diet. Give these a try and please report back here on RacerX VT. I have used this system with many of our top riders with overwhelming results - it will be worth the effort!

Hi Coach,
Really appreciate your input and yes I do realise that I'm in a nice situation that i'm looking to add calories rather than dieting to lose weight.
I changed my training slightly from last year and doing slightly lower weights but higher reps and have found a slight loss in weight about 3Llbs to be exact but a feel fitter, i'm leaner, don't get worn out so much when racing and a feel mentally stronger.
I will definately give your suggestions ago, for my lunch which is the meal I have changed in my diet I am alternating between, chicken and pasta, tuna, pasta with light mayo and a baked potato with homemade lamb bolgnese on top trying to up my carb intake to compliment my training.
Not a huge fan of Advocadoes but will look to slot them in somewhere aswell as the fish.

Many Thanks :)
