Hi,

I am competing in a 2 day national motocross event in a month. 3x 20+2lap motos each day in deep rough sand. Should i follow the usual recovery diets/routines or is there anything slightly different i should do to prepare for the second day of racing. I'm thinking i need more carbs than a normal recovery diet? Staying correctly hyrated will be a major concern also, i have no issues drinking plain old water but any other tips would be good.

Thanks for your help.

I would stick to your normal recovery and wouldn't focus on that as much as the training leading up to the event. That, in my opinion is much more important.

As soon as you get off the bike, you need to start recovering for not only the next moto but also for the motos the next day. Try to think big picture. Make sure you taper appropriately so that you hit the event with your energy stores replenished and keep in mind that when you are not riding, you need to be recovering. Not any different than any other race really, just more of the same due to the two day format. When you are done after day one, it's recovery and only recovery for day 2. You get the picture.
