might not be the right forum. but throught I'd ask as it seems more prevalent with mx'rs.

I was diagnosed with it. I knew something was wrong too.. just didn't have that "fire" in my belly in a sense. along with the general weakened feeling.

so what is the scoop with it?

thanks

jeff

Epsein Barr is a virus which often causes infectious mononucleosis, especially in adolescence. Approximately 95% of the population has been infected with the virus, just not all of us have symptoms. Because it's a virus as opposed to a bacteria, there is no cure and the virus usually remains dormant in the body for the rest of the recipients life. If the virus is reactivated it is usually without symptoms.

Epstein Barr may be one contributing factor to Chronic Fatigue Syndrom but the research hasn't proven this.

Rest and healthy habits are really the best defense and management strategies. Symptoms typically last 1 week to 4 months. If your symptoms last longer you should be checked for Chronic Fatigue.

thanks Kim. now that I think about it, lack of good sleep might have alot to do with it in my case. Ever since I had my first kid (have a 4 and 5 year old) sleep seems like more of a luxury. I've been eating good thanks to what I have learned on this site so I can't say that is an issue.
gotta go, time for a nap. :D

This virus is prevalent in other sports as well at the elite levels due to the high volume of training and stress load. I have a lot or experience with this and for awhile it was almost a specialty of mine.

Some alternative medicine treatments have been very productive: Vitamin C infusion, Peroxide Infusion and Ozone infusion. The mechanism of all three is the same; you are creating peroxide in the bloodstream and the difference is in how many steps there are to get there. Look up the treatments on the internet and there is usually a full bore explanation of how they work and how they specifically work for viruses.
