Hello Coach,

Can you elaborate a little more regarding the lift tempo of our current phase? Are we supposed to explode on the concentric movement, and slow on the ecentric, or try to pump out 12 steady fast reps?

Thanks again,
Drew

Explosive movements. Lift as fast as you can UNDER CONTROL. If the movement becomes sloppy, add weight. Remember, you still need to reach FAILURE at the end of the set. If you do not reach failure at the end of the set, add weight.

Ok, explode on concentric, but lower normally. Time to add weight!

Thanks for the replies this morning Tim,
Drew

In this phase of training, the speed of the concentric phase is the much more important than the load being used. Make sure to keep this in mind. The set should stop and be considered "failure" as soon as your concentric contraction speed slows down NOT when you cannot lift it in the correct form.
