I just completed my threshold test and got my zones. but in the heart rate training it has a different calculator with different zones. What zones should i use? The threshold zones of "heart rate training" zones?
thanks

Use the Calculator in this article

http://www.racerxvt.com/article/cardio-training

If you still cannot figure it out, post your LTHR and I will calculate for you.

The other HR Calculator is based on max and resting heart rate and age.

Just got a question for you. This was my first time completing the LTHR test because I just got a HR monitor. My AVG HR was 190 in witch i ran this time and the next will be cycling. But i went to the cardio training article to see if i could figure out my LTHR number. The only problem I had I just cant seem to figure out your example you have on there. The 130 to 138 and how you get all the numbers together? If you would break this down for me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to everybody who makes Racer X VT happen! Calculate it for me and show me how please im lost.

190 Average (you sure about this??? That sounds extremely high)

Your average heart rate was 190 BPM from your heart rate monitor.
Zone 1 would be anything less than 159 BPM (191 x 0.83 = 159 or 83% of 191 = 159)
Zone 2 would be 160 to 169 BPM (83% to 89%)
Zone 3 would be 170 to 176 BPM (89% to 93%)
Zone 4 would be 177 to 190 BPM (93% to 100%)
Zone 5 is anything above 190 BPM

Myaverage was 192 for the last 20 minutes of the test. my max was 196. My zones were so much differnt i got confused.
my resting heart rate is 47 and my gentic max is right around 200. 200 is the highest number i have hit.
I have been following this program since week 5 but this was my first test with my hr monitor that i got after the last test.
Are these numbers way to high?

The numbers, other than your resting heart rate are not all that related to health or fitness. As you get more fit, your resting heart rate will drop. Your max heart rate is pretty much made up from genetics and doesn't change much. LTHR will change slightly but what is more important is the amount of work (or power) you can output at LTHR. It's all good, just keep training.

I just wanted you to make sure you were looking at the correct number on your monitor. Most max heart rates are 190 to 200 with averages in the 160's to 170's. Its all good though. Just making sure.

Ok, I just realized there are two of you on this thread. Did you both get your question answered? And please, next time start a new thread if you did not originate the question. Its the only way I can keep track.
