While trying to add muscle, should I be taking in the same amount of calories on rest days as on days I ride and train? I am trying to add fifteen pounds of muscle, so I try to stay active whenever possible. Also, how many calories would you recommend daily? It seems like I eat more, but am still losing weight. I am currently suffering from Mono, but I still want to reach my goals and you help a lot. Thank you!

This question has been covered on the forum before so do a search and let me know what you find. If you cannot find the thread I'll help but part of finding your answer is the search :D

If you tell me what your goal weight is, your height, age and number of days you work out or ride and how intensely I can give you a figure for the number of calories you should be consuming on average.

Thanks for the replies! I apologize for the repeated question, I didn't catch that one on here. Thank you for your offer though Kim! I would like to weigh around 145 pounds. I am about 5'7-5'8, I'm 21 years old, and I try to get to the gym or ride AT LEAST twice a week, but I go whenever I get the chance. For the most part, my work-outs and rides are a higher intensity. Thank you again!!!

You should be averaging about 2100 calories/day based on the information you gave and your activity level. This is a rough estimate and of course there is much more to nutrition than just calorie counting.

If you are interested in a nutrition plan designed specifically for you which will eliminate the guesswork, feel free to email me @ Kim@fitnessandfuel.com or call @ 517.404.9003.
