Inspiration comes from many places and in many forms. What seems to inspire people the most is other people. Whether it be the career path we choose or a hobby we pick up you can probably trace your interest to a college professor, a parent, a friend or someone of fame that you admire or respect.

The motivation to maintain a healthy lifestyle can stem from many influences, both internal and external. If you take a moment and sort through all of those influences, somewhere among the body image issues and the desire to run a marathon, you will find a person or people that have influenced why and how you get fit. Here is where the Fitness Superhero is found.

For me, my biggest fitness hero is my wife. All sentiment and mushiness aside, I greatly admire her drive to train and her dedication to fitness. When she starts to slip off of her workout routine, she is quick to bounce back and get on track again. The results might not come as quickly as she would like, but that doesn't seem to phase her. Seeing her example definitely motivates me and when I, to quote Emio from last week's Behind the TRX Videos post, "... make my (wife) give me that look, and say, 'wow'... " is also a big motivating factor!

When asked who their fitness hero's are, I was amazed by the awesome responses that I received from the Fitness Anywhere Crew.

"Mark Verstegen- He has created an effective world-class system for training the top athletes around the country in all areas of sports and fitness. He is humble, knowledgeable and practices what he preaches." - Kim, Director of Education

"Team Hoyt: Rick Hoyt and his dad, Dick, "run" the Boston Marathon together every year. Rick was born with his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, which cut off most of the oxygen to his brain, leaving him without most motor skills and the ability to speak. Dick runs the Boston Marathon every year, pushing Rick in his wheel chair. When I was in college, I was the Lifeguard for Rick when he "trained" at the pool. He always smiled and became a staple around the pool deck. His unwavering sense of dedication, even in the toughest of situations, should inspire each of us to keep trying and always strive for our best." - Nicole, Project Manager

"My high school cross country coach, Terry Kelly. He taught me that running is 90% mental and only 10% physical. He also said we'd probably never be in that good of shape again in our lives. I've been trying to prove him wrong ever since. Thanks Coach!" - Jennie, Senior Online Marketing Manager

"Jim Brown - incredible athlete in his sport (football), in other sports (played LAX) transcended sport in his "story" and had the chance to know him on a social level." - Chris, Director of Programming

"Dave Scott and Mark Allan for potentially the most inspirational race in Ironman history.
Peter Croft for having the ability and headspace to free solo over 100 pitches of hard granite rock climbing in a single day.
Mark Twight for his 2 hours and 4 min ascent of the 1000m ice climb slipstream among many other incredible fast and light achievements in alpinism.
My Aunt who at 72 regularly drops in to double black diamond ski runs on her telemark skis." - Fraser, Head Coach and Director of Training and Development
