I have garmin, timex and suunto monitors. The suunto came with my Concept2 rower.
The problem I have is with the chest straps reading my heart rate. The suunto rarely gives me issues but I can only use it with the rower. The garmin rarely reads my heart rate and the timex is spotty at times.
I have made sure the chest strap reading pads are wet, tried different positions but it has not helped.
My question is what brand of monitor reads the easiest and most accurate?

I have never had a problem with monitors reading heart rate. They are all pretty good across the board (imo). Have you checked with the manufacturer? Does your strap have batteries in the strap itself?
