I have been racing since I was 12 yrs old, and have kept myself in very good shape during most of my life.
But, I am 50 yrs old now, and about 4 years ago I began to notice an increased difficulty in just about every aspect of my training, and racing.
I feel that I may need to alter my training to something more fitting a 50 yr old.
Is there training available specifically targeting the 50+ MX racer?
I want to be the oldest MXer in the world, and would appreciate any and all advice.

Racing is LIFE. Everything that comes before or after is just...waiting.

Can you expand a little on what you currently do for training. Include number of hours you work at your job, number of hours per week you train (schedule of days on and days off), number of hours per week you ride, the type of exercises you do, typical number of hours per night you sleep, and some basics on your diet. Thanks!

Good training programs are tailored specifcially for each individual's age, physiology, condition, injury status, total stress load and hours available to train among other things so YES, there is for sure a program espeicially for you. You just have to figure out your specific goals, the prioirty of these goals vs. all the other things that compete for your time, the amount of stress (physcial, mental, etc.) coming from other sources and how much time you have per week to train AND recover. You can do it man. I have seen some of the best relative improvements with correct training among people your age. Go for it man!

People get old so they stop playing.....or is it they stop playing so they get old...
